The project
- Located above Fort Augustus and Invergarry
- Up to eight turbines being proposed to the east of the existing wind farm
- Planning application includes associated infrastructure – internal access road, on-site substation, borrow pit
- Will utilise existing infrastructure where possible to minimise new construction
- Will provide at least £5,000/MW additional funding to the existing local community benefit funds and the potential opportunity to invest in a co-operative, or similar
- Extensive environmental and ornithology surveys undertaken
- Public exhibitions have taken place to allow us to share the plans with local communities and gather their feedback
- Further sessions will be held with local communities
- As the combined installed capacity of the wind farm will be over 50 MW our planning application was made under Section 36 of the Electricity Act (1996) and will be determined by Scottish Government Ministers.
- The planning application was validated by the Energy Consents Unit (ECU) on 28th October 2025
